Liam is responsible for maintaining the high creative bar at DDB in not only Johannesburg but the rest of Africa as well. Having cut his teeth on global brands such as Guinness, Land Rover, Virgin Atlantic Airways and P&G he’s more than ready to once again take on his favourite challenge of building a network of strong creative thinkers, producing great results with great creative work.
Both in his own right as an art director and as the lead of several creative departments, Liam has collected an impressive array of Lions, Pencils and statues from international and local award shows. In his spare time he likes to chase a little white ball with a big stick around beautifully manicured lawns.
With more than 15 years of experience in the advertising industry, he started his career as an Art Director in Chile, working in some of the country’s greatest agencies: FCB, Ogilvy, BBDO, DDB and 180 Grados. In 2015, he moved to Ecuador as BBDO’s local General Creative Director and, in 2018, he started his own agency called Paper. Within a year, Paper was granted the Independent Agency of the Year award and was named 4th in the overall ranking at El Cóndor, an advertising festival endorsed by the AEAP (Ecuadorian Advertising Agencies Association). Paper was also awarded the Grand Prix award at Wina Festival, establishing itself as the #1 Ecuadorian Agency.
Throughout his career, he’s worked with brands such as Gatorade, Pepsi, Mitsubshi, Mercedes Benz, CMPC, Bayer, Entel, Johnson&Johnson and Frito-Lay. He’s won over 50 creativity awards in different festivals and his work has been published multiple times in Lürzer’s Archive, a very renowned magazine.
Costa Rican with more than 18 years of experience leading national and international brands. Throughout his career, he has directed projects of different nature in the fields of Creativity, Shopper Marketing, Digital and Innovation.
With more than 100 advertising awards, he has become one of the most awarded creatives in Costa Rica, including achievements such as winning the first Grand Prix at London International Advertising Awards, being the first agency in the region to achieve this award. At the same time, he founds Animal Ad School Guatemala, a school dedicated to form creatives, designers and advertisers, becoming the largest academic advertising institution in Central America, with operations in Costa Rica, Guatemala and Nicaragua.
He currently founded Oz Digital Consulting Central America with operations in two of the most important markets in the region, creating a business based on data that supports marketing decisions.
