Nacho Vallejo


Nacho Vallejo was born in Madrid in 1967, and he chose to move to Montevideo in 1987. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Communication, issued by the Catholic University of Uruguay. In 2008, he founded Amén, with his partner Milena Guillot. He is the CEO and the Chief Creative Officer of the agency. Before that, since 2004 he worked as Chief Creative Officer at Young & Rubicam Uruguay.  Between 1995 and 2004 he was the Creative Director and later, Chief Creative Officer of Viceversa Young & Rubicam. (after that, it became Viceversa Euro RSCG). From 1992 to 1995, he worked as a Creative Director at BBDO Uruguay. His professional career started as a junior copywriter in the Uruguayan local agency called MRM, in 1990. During all these years, he won several awards: the Grand Prize of TV in Gramado Festival in 1995, the Grand Prize of Outdoor in Eagle Awards in 1994, the Gran Ojo Promo Award in El Ojo de Iberoamérica Festival in 2006,the Grand Slam from FIAP (Uruguay) in 2007, and the Grand Prize of Radio from Caracol de Plata in 2013 (RSE Regional advertising festival), as well as awards in all the editions of the national festival of advertisers La Campana de Oro (without interruptions since 1999), and the Publicity Circle Festival, El Desachate. He also won awards at various international festivals such as FIAP, NY Festival, or Lapiz de Platino and shortlists at Cannes Festival. He has presented as an international speaker in Chile (Creativiña), Peru (Dial de Oro), Colombia (Exposhow and Cartagena Inspira), and Cuba (Festival La Ceiba). Nacho was also part of the jury of FIAP 2005 and FIAP 2009, and has been jury of El Ojo de Iberoamérica uninterruptedly since 2003. Moreover, he was President of El Desachate 06 (Uruguay) and was President of the Uruguayan Publicity Circle during the period 2007-2008. He is a Professor of creativity at the Catholic University of Uruguay, and he is a columnist in one of the digital media with the highest readership in Uruguay. He worked for many of the main advertisers in most consumer categories, for different companies and governmental organisms, international agencies, and non-governmental organizations. Furthermore, Nacho is a Commercial Pilot and a Soccer Coach by the ACJ University Institute, currently managing the first division of the female team Club Atlético Juventud.
