Creative Director X3M IDEAS

Nigeria

I was born and educated in the UK, have a BA in graphic design and advertising, attended the D&AD evening school where I learnt from a few of advertising’s greats. But that was years ago, 40 to be precise – you quickly check my picture again and ask: “was he 5 when he started?” – you are too kind, but nope. My many years in advertising would have turned most into a bitter, cantankerous old man, but fortunately for me I still love ideas and all the many forms they now take, so I am only slightly passive aggressive. It was always great to celebrate the genius of a poster campaign or a beautiful TVC, but now we are celebrating the ideas that change perceptions, the ideas that engage, and the ideas that start – What if… So, luckily for me advertising has become more me, rather than less me. In 1989, I moved to Australia and held positions of Head of Art and Creative Director at DDB, Leo Burnett, FNL, McCann and M&C Saatchi. Then in 2012 I went to Taiwan and over to the client side for a few years, followed by my current role as ECD of X3M ideas in Nigeria. So, as a result of this restless nature I have experienced creating work for the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Africa, India, EMEA, USA, China, and many other Asian countries. As an art director I have won many awards internationally and as a Creative Director I have led other creatives to do the same, along with lecturing and sitting on many prestigious award juries.
